- Luoyang (洛陽/洛阳), Henan, during the later Jin dynasty
- Datong (大同), Shanxi, during the Liao dynasty
- Chengdu (成都), Sichuan, during its occupation by a short-lived successor state to the Ming.
- Pyongyang (平壤), Korea, officially from before 921 to 1369 and poetically thereafter
