Japanese[edit]

Kanji in this term

Grade: 5
on’yomi

Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Middle Chinese (MC syu|syuH). The kanji uses kan’yōon (yu).

The seemingly unrelated senses "to transport" and "to be inferior" may be due to being a semantic loan from Middle Chinese.

Verb[edit]

()する (yusurutransitive suru (stem () (yushi), past ()した (yushita))

  1. (rare) to transport; to deliver
