Etymology[edit]
Sino-Korean word from 군기(軍紀) (gun'gi, “military morale”) + 훈련(訓練) (hullyeon, “training”).

- Phonetic hangul: [군기훌(ː)련]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
