Korean[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Proscribed, as its Middle Korean root ᄉᆞᆯ다 (sol-ta) does not survive in modern Korean unfossilized: hence the phonetic spelling 사라 (sara-) instead of the ostensibly morphophonemic 살아 (sara-) observed in other 지다 (-jida) verbs.
