Related to Standard Korean 여덟 (yeodeol).

야덟 (yadeol)

  1. Pyongan, Northern Jeolla, Hamgyong, North Korea, and Russia form of 여덟 (yeodeol, eight).

      Na yadeolsal -raseo-du, aju meol mollat-di-o, mwo.
      Even though I was eight years old, I didn't really know about it.

Usage notes[edit]

Also seems to be used by speakers from Kaesong and Southern Hwanghae just as often as the standard 여덟 (yeodeol) (Interview with Oh Cheongsong - 6:00 mark) though a similar form, 야들 (yadeul) seemed to have been used originally.
