Etymology 1[edit]

First attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 자곡 (Yale: càkwòk).

This form can be explained with the medial -k- leniting into -G- and then disappearing. However, such a form is not attested in the Middle Korean corpus.
