-llyd

  1. pejorative adjectival suffix, often indicating tendency to or abundance of
    saim (grease, fat) + ‎-llyd → ‎seimllyd (greasy)
    rhew (ice, frost) + ‎-llyd → ‎rhewllyd (icy, frosty)
    rhagfarn (prejudice) + ‎-llyd → ‎rhagfarnllyd (prejudiced)
    chwerthin (to laugh) + ‎-llyd → ‎chwerthinllyd (laughable, risible)

Usage notes[edit]

-lyd and -llyd are variants of the same suffix. -llyd is found after n, r and w and -lyd after other letters. The exception is m, which can be followed be either -lyd or -llyd.
