Etymology[edit]

A +‎ RNA. Blend of A-DNA +‎ RNA. From being an RNA analogue of the previously discovered A-DNA.

A-RNA (countable and uncountable, plural A-RNAs)

  1. (uncountable) A configuration of RNA, right-hand twisting double helix, that forms the default configuration of double-stranded RNA.
  2. (countable) An RNA helix in such a configuration.
