Scottish Gaelic[edit]

Gàidhealtachd na h-Èireann ann an 1871. Bha mòran sgìrean eile Ghàidhealach ann an 1851.

Etymology[edit]

Literally "Year of the Bone," likely in reference to the mass starvation. Also called a' Ghort Mhòr because of the modern coordinate Irish term an Gorta Mór.
