Burmese rosewood (usually uncountable, plural Burmese rosewoods)

  1. Dalbergia oliveri, a southeast Asian tree and its wood, valuable for its red lumber used in ornamental work including woodturning and furniture. The sapwood is yellowish-white with dark brown heartwood. The heartwood is very hard and heavy.
  2. Any of species Dalbergia bariensis of similar trees.
  3. Any of species Pterocarpus indicus of similar trees.
  4. (uncountable) The wood of such trees.
