German Low German vs. Low German[edit]

Can someone please enlighten in me why there are two categories for Low German? Thanks. Leornendeealdenglisc (talk) 17:35, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Leornendeealdenglisc Because at some point in a moment of weakness we made the grave mistake of copying the idiocy of nds.Wikipedia and splitting Low German into one lang code for spellings from the Netherlands and one for spellings from Germany. The reason there's still 'Low German' entries is that nobody could be arsed to move them over to 'German Low German'. Since there's at most 2,5 editors who have any opinion on Low German and I, being one of those, am opposed to 'German Low German', -sche having no too stark opinion and CodeCat (half-interested) being against it for mainly site-political reasons, 'German Low German' has no actual consensus, but editors who're doing site maintenance are often transferring entries from nds to nds-de out of bureaucratic reflex.
