- Le jeudi 31 octobre 2002, un hélicoptère s’abîmait dans la baie de Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine). Aux commandes, le boulanger Lionel Poilâne, qui se rendait avec son épouse sur l’île des Rimains. Après ce tragique accident, leur fille Apollonia Poilâne, âgée d’à peine 18 ans, reprenait avec courage le flambeau de cette fabrication d’un pain artisanal cuit au feu de bois.
- On Thursday the 31st of October, 2002, a helicopter crashed in the Bay of Cancale (Ille-et-Vilaine). At the controls, the baker Lionel Poilâne, who was going with his wife to île des Rimains. After this tragic accident, their daughter Apollonia Poilâne, barely 18 years old, courageously took up the torch of making artisanal bread cooked over a wood fire.
