    Aloisiite is an amorphous hydrosilicate of a type very poor in silica. It occurs intimately mixed with calcium carbonate in the tufa of Fort Portal, Uganda.17 Its composition corresponds approximately with the formula (R′2R″)4SiO6, where R′ = Na,H and R″ = Fe, Ca, Mg.
