Etymology[edit]
From Cornish Lannanta, from lann Anta (“church-site of Anta”), from Proto-Brythonic *llann (“churchyard”).[1] Anta was a Cornish saint, whose name was transcribed by Cornish historian Charles Henderson as British Latin Anta, Ansa.[2]
