Perhaps related to Proto-Tungusic *ŋua- (“to sleep”), *ā- (“to sleep”), Proto-Mongolic *nojir (“sleep”), Proto-Japonic *úi- (“sleep, to sleep”) (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
