Concerning Swedish

The Swedish equivalent of the Danish word is ärg, which consists of this word and a suffix of some sort; the equivalent in Old Norse would have been *eirugr, but since for example German ehern isn’t listed, I chose not to list it. However at Appendix:Proto-Germanic/þahsuz, compound words are listed, is there a policy of some sort? --Lundgren8 (t · c) 21:41, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

There isn't really a policy, but I think if a word survives only in compound form, the formation should be clarified in the list of descendants. That way, anyone using the descendants to check and verify the reconstructed form will not be confused by forms that seem to go against the normal sound laws. —CodeCat 21:57, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
