Etymology[edit]

According to Pokorny (see link on lot) Indo-European radical is cognate with Latin clavis, claudo, the meaning is therefore that of French clos (portion of land) with a logical semantic derivation "portion of land" > "inherited portion of land"> "heritage" > "destiny, what is inherited". --Diligent (talk) 12:54, 18 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
