The PIE reconstruction given by Beekes, *steh₃-mn, doesn't work for Germanic, considering the -e- in *stebnō/*stimnō. Beekes instead says the Germanic words are unrelated to the Greek, while Kroonen keeps the connection but reconstructs the root as *stem-.
Kroonen also considers the idea that *munþaz could go back to *stmn̥tos. Anglom (talk) 18:39, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
