Do we have a source for this? This reconstruction seems quite shaky; I see no evidence for the laryngeal being h₁ (it could just as easily be any other and should thus be reconstructed *H) and all of the descendants imply a *y or *i somewhere in the root; it looks like this should be reconstructed as *peyH-, *pyeH- or even *piH-. LIV gives this as *peh₁y-, with *h₁ supposedly shown by the Gothic hapax legomenon faianda (= /fēanda/) < *péh₁y-e-. --Tropylium (talk) 13:38, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Dghmonwiskos: If Ancient Greek πῆμα (pêma) is indeed a descendant, then the laryngeal needs to be -h₁-. Безименен (talk) 13:22, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
