Latin pāx[edit]

This root, Proto-Indo-European *peh₂ḱ-, is currently claiming Latin pāx (and pacō), but pāx is also claimed by root Proto-Indo-European *peh₂ǵ-, and the page for pāx itself says that it is from *peh₂ǵ-. The page for pācō itself (note the inconsistency in vowel length) says it is from pāx. --Caoimhin (talk) 15:14, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Overlap with root peḱ- ‘joyful, pretty’[edit]

The Germanic words *faganaz (“glad”) and *fagraz (“fair”) are listed here under unsorted formations. But they and their descendants (e.g. Old English fæġen, English fain) seem to overlap with the derived terms listed under PIE root peḱ- (third homonym) ‘joyful, pretty’. --Caoimhin (talk) 19:14, 28 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
