that was me lol. my references are there (theyre just awful—four different Wiktionary pages! can you believe it! it borders blasphemy) but I was too lazy to find a real source. I put the strange comments there so that it may be put up for review 03:12, 31 May 2018 (UTC).
Just creating something which can be reasonably assumed to exist by other Wiktionary pages is acceptable conduct, don't worry. But please be aware that we have a strict separation of dictionary and forum. Slang, commentary and communication with other editors do not belong on an entry page but on the talk pages (the tab called 'discussion') or the discussion sections such as this one, which you can find under 'Community portal' in the menu on the very left or on the homepage. Slavic cognate?[edit]

"Ał(ł)a" - to express pain.

What do you think? Just onomatopeic (false cognate) or a real link to "woe", "vae" etc. here?
