- @Guldrelokk 1) These words are synonyms, 2) Probably they're from same root, 3) Geographically they doesn't intersect (except for Polish: prok - proca). So perhaps somehow their suffixes are related/connected.—Игорь Тълкачь (talk) 10:50, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
Possibility of **-aťь
[edit]I'm not entirely sure what the (current) Etymology tries to imply, but the second suggestion regarding *-ačь ↔ **-aťь does not sound convincing. It would have been rendered as Old Church Slavonic **-ащь (**-aštĭ) in Old Church Slavonic, which clearly is not the case. I think that the only plausible derivation is from pre-Slavic *-kyos, possibly semantically enforced by the Turkic suffix *-čV (which also implies agentive or operational sense).
