"Do siego roku" - a way of saying "till this year" in Polish[edit]

"Do siego roku" has a reflection of the archaic Polish "sij" (pronounced "śij"), the genitive of which was "siego" (pronounced "śego"). This is the only relic of this word / pronoun in Polish and - possibly - in West Slavic dialects. The saying is a rare semantic equivalent of 'Happy New Year'.
