Alemannic[edit]

@Skiulinamo: Another descendant is Alemannic German Gööre, Göörä, Gööra, but I don't know where to put it exactly in the tree. If the term came down from the north and entered German only in the 16th (Kluge) / 17th (Pfeifer), it would have been borrowed into Alemannic from German but then there's also the other descendant that I can't explain. See also [1]. Not sure if / how they're related to Alemannic German Gof / Goof. — Fytcha T | L | C 19:19, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Fytcha: Where does the umlaut in the Middle Low German and North Frisian forms come from? Why is there no umlaut in MLG gorre, gurre? The reconstructions given don't add up. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 22:01, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
