How did this become associated with "mussel", "whale" and "muscle"? Wyang (talk) 12:40, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

The sense of "muscle" developed in many other IE and non-IE languages too; for some examples see մուկն (mukn). I read somewhere, that this is perhaps because one of the human muscles looks like a mouse (the calf?). Don't know about other senses. --Vahag (talk) 13:44, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
