@Per utramque cavernam, Wikitiki89, Metaknowledge: I think what Per utramque cavernam wanted to know in the request is how an imperative form of the verb дзя́каваць (dzjákavacʹ) translated as "to thank" has come to mean "thank you". Perhaps it's actually an elided form of the first-person singular present дзя́кую (dzjákuju), rather than an imperative? That would actually make a lot of sense, both in comparison to Polish and Ukrainian and given how the word is used in Belarusian. --WikiTiki89 16:11, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
