Not really necessary, but they have two different declensions. Two etymologies is the way that Russian Wikislovar handled this word. There really is only one etymology, but different declensions for the two senses. —Stephen ^(Talk) 18:37, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Wrong Russian pronunciation

The current Russian pronunciation is clearly wrong, it seems like the speaker is pronouncing the word without word-final devoicing as a result of hypercorrection. I request a better, more natural pronunciation, because the one we have right now is misleading for non-speakers of the language. --RealBigChungus (talk) 17:42, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Word-final devoicing of /z/ is not compulsory in Russian; retention is at least more natural than e.g. in German. Also the lacking vowel reduction is more natural than its popping up everywhere in the IPA transcriptions, but one can’t convince people to represent my dialect instead of Putin’s.
