The only similar word in Kurdish which comes to mind is dîl "prisoner".--Calak (talk) 13:31, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
- According to Cabolov, the Kurdish is a borrowing from a specialized sense of Turkish dil (“tongue”). Some of the Turkic cognates indeed have the figurative sense of "prisoner of war". --Vahag (talk) 14:49, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

- Well I should search for a better source for the Bakhtiari. This is a Bakhtiari poem in which this very word has been applied:
