Yes, but I think this is just a modern ethnological, i.e. learned borrowing, hence also written ضُوم (ḍūm). When the Arabia was less influenced by the West, one denoted the Dom by their particular tribes, in Egypt: غَجَر (ḡajar), نَوَر (nawar), حَلَب (ḥalab).
