European-style cakes, especially with a lot of cream, are usually called كَيْك (kayk) in Arabic, and not just by people who are prone to using many anglicisms. So it would be interesting to see what kinds of pastries are commonly understood under the term كَعْك (kaʕk). Probably there are regional differences. 46.183.103.8 20:30, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
