This etymology is incorrect.[edit]

The Persian word هوا does not originate from Arabic. it originated from Middle Persian havā, ultimately deriving from Old Persian hvayāv lit. meaning "Good Current."

The Academy of Persian Language and Literature has created new words from this word knowing that is was of Perian origin, such as هواپیما. Such words would not have been created if it was not certain that the word is of Persian origin. I cannot find a source for the claim that this word is of Arabic origin on this page, so I request that this etymology be changed to its correct form as soon as possible. Thank you.

Update: I have changed the etymology myself.
