@AryamanA The McGregor ref is not working for me here (or with any nuqta words for that matter). I get a no found error with:

It works with the transliteration though:

Can you please look into this? Thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 04:21, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Gotitbro: The digitized version of McGregor has Unicode bugs (they use nuqta modifier and nuqta-combined letters interchangeable) which are not in our control, unfortunately. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 20:27, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. Maybe we can contact DSAL Dictionaries here to notify them about this (I'd do it if you want but am not much familiar with Unicode).
This also creates some problems in the meantime as a lot of nuqta words do link to this template and Wiktionary users would not know that the dictionary does contain the word but they are facing the 'not found' error due to Unicode errors [as well as editors who might try to use the template]. I suggest adding documentation to the template that lists out this issue and recommend editors to use transliterations for nuqta words. And we should probably add transliterations in the template for the nuqta words where it is already being used. Gotitbro (talk) 00:17, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@AryamanA I have created the documentation for the template (Template:R:hi:McGregor) per above and explained the nuqta issue there. Can you please take a look and see if any fixes are needed (it would be great if you can fix the note there, not sure how to add notes at Wiktionary). In the meantime, I'll add the transliterations for nuqta entries where the template is used as a fix. Thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 08:15, 22 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
