The sound file may be an Oriya (and also Assamese and Bengali) pronunciation of the Sanskrit number. "Learn Oriya in 30 days" by NSR Ganathe has the number as ek, and so do the surrounding Eastern Indo-Aryan languages. In modern Indian scripts it is usual to not pronounce the final -a (or -ô in the case of Oriya, Assamese and Bengali) as the virama mark isn't usually used.Vedac13 (talk) 10:18, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Vedac13 Hello. Oriya is an outlier in this case, as is Nepali and Konkani, when it comes to North Indian languages. They do pronounce their final ô (compare the sound file on ଘର (ghôrô)).
