Romanization[edit]

Why is "oo" used rather than "u" in this romanization? I think "oo" could be confused for a long o (as in Japanese ō). 24.29.228.33 15:49, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

That’s just how I romanize it. There are other ways, such as Royal Thai, but all the methods have their drawbacks. If you prefer a different romanization, you are welcome to make the changes, but I really think my way is as good as any other. Ideally, each entry should have a ===Pronunciation=== section using IPA, and that would be very useful to add. I don’t do IPA myself because I find it too difficult, but somebody should add pronunciation sections in IPA. —Stephen 21:26, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
