@კვარია: My first guess was instead that the Mingrelian has been wrongly derived from the Georgian and the former is from جَلِيل (jalīl) and the latter from جَاهِل (jāhil), since the meanings are completely distinct. Fay Freak (talk) 09:50, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

@Fay_Freak: Explanatory Dictionary of the Georgian language argues that Georgian ჯეილი, ჯეელი (ǯeili, ǯeeli) is from جَاهِل (jāhil) (which makes sense). Kipshidze however derives Mingrelian from Georgian ჯელი (ǯeli), I don't know and can't find such a form, I assumed typo of ჯეელი (ǯeeli). He then listed the words I asked you about. @Fay_Freak: So Ottoman Turkish means "big, supreme", correct? I'd still probably assume an indirect borrowing from Ottoman Turkish (due to form), but that makes more sense კვარია (talk) 10:55, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
