Derived terms: გაცდენა; შეცდენა, (მოცდენა), ცთომა (ცდომა)[edit]

@Reordcraeft. Are they really directly related to ცდა (<- ს-ცდ-ი-ს). Like sure გამო-ცდა is, but:
გა-ცდენა, შე-ცდენა, მო-ცდენა = (გა-,შე-,მო-)ა-ცდენ-ს + -ა
შე-ცდომა = (შე-)ცდ-ებ-ა + -ომ-ა
So I think they should go in their respective imperfective verbal noun pages: ცდენა (cdena), ცდომა (cdoma). Though, I am not denying the fact, that they could possibly be coming from the same root -ცდ- with suffixes -ებ-, -ენ- because they undeniably pretty common. -Solarkoid (talk) 10:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

As I suspected, she's talking about the root -ცდ-. (ს)-ცდ-ი-ს is just one user of this root, but I still think we should just somehow unite the verbal forms: (ს)-ცდ-ი-ს; ა-ცდ-უნ-ებ-ს; ცდ-ებ-ა; ა-ცდ-ენ-ს; გან-ი-ცდ-ი-ს... as descendants of the same, original root -cd-/-cad-/(-ced-) and just write the derived terms under their own verbs. For example, as you said, (შე)ცდომა may have ultimately come from -ცდ- but it should be under ცდ-ებ-ა as their meanings are connected directly in modern Georgian and not through some historical change. She is not talking about directly derived terms is what I'm saying, if anything, it's come at least 3 steps
-ცდ- -> ა-ცდ-ენ-ს -> ცდ-ენ-ა.
I am not taking any actions unless I get your thoughts on this. I completely understand where you're coming from, though it's still hard to not do this the other way. -Solarkoid (talk) 12:30, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Feel free to proceed the way you see fit. I'm not here to start a linguistic feud, but rather to improve navigation between entries and interlink related words in a meaningful way. Georgian word formation through prefixing, suffixing or other internal change, as well as connections between words from same root seems neglected. I'm trying to come up with a way to fix that. Consider this an experiment and I'm only glad if you and others build upon it or propose even better ways of doing that.--Reordcraeft (talk) 18:24, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please note my edits in entries such as ფრენა or სვლა. --Reordcraeft (talk) 18:26, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
The last edits are definitely okay in my book. I wouldn't want to call this a linguistic feud, just a discussion on how things should be done. I really like the idea of uniting possible same root combinations, but we need a good idea of how to do that. I'll just leave this as it is, since I'm new. There's also Dixtosa we should ask, I mean I dunno... Well let's just keep it as it is for now. -Solarkoid (talk) 20:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry if I sounded unfriendly, I just termed it a "feud" half-jokingkly, really. I'm happy to have a contributor like you here on Wiktionary and I'm also glad you take the subject seriously. I just didn't want to get into a debate over which entries should be left and which removed.--Reordcraeft (talk) 22:38, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
