@Nisetpdajsankha: Removed. People are paying attention to entry talk pages. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 23:12, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I see, I just want to Wiktionary more reliable and good quality. Thank Anatoli T.--Nisetpdajsankha (talk) 09:57, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nisetpdajsankha: Thank you. I made a typo. Sorry, I meant "People are NOT paying attention to entry talk pages". So it's better to post in WT:TR about words, WT:ES about etymologies, WT:BP about policies and WT:GP about technical issues. I saw your post by accident. --Anatoli T. Thai origin[edit]

@Octahedron80, Atitarev, Nisetpdajsankha @Nisetpdajsankha, how is this word not from Thai เชื่อ ? Exact same sound, exact same meanings, plus the characteristically Thai ឿ sound. Just wondering... This etym was added by Octahedron80, and the Thai page still lists ជឿ as a descendant. Sitaron (talk) 17:30, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Old Khmer does not have the vowel "uea" so (almost) every Khmer word spells with "uea" must borrow from other languages such as Thai (or at least a Tai language) or Vietnamese (it has uea but very few). You must agree with this fact. Also, please see เชื่อ how it comes; it does not from Khmer either. OR you might say if it is from Middle Chinese? It will be the same that Thai is from Middle Chinese too (just not sure which one). --Octahedron80 (talk) 04:15, 13 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Why are you serious, you say old Khmer script not have vowel, Mr. Octahedron80 (Nisetpdajsankha (talk) 09:10, 20 June 2021 (UTC)).្Reply
