Although the ᾰ of ἄγω is brachy, @perseus gives

But DGE mentions only κῆρες γὰρ ἄγον μέλανος θανάτοιο Il.2.834

Yeah, ἆγον looks like the Doric form of ἦγον (êgon), an imperfect. In the present tense the stem has a short alpha, in Doric and Attic. — Eru·tuon 06:21, 17 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
