Lemmatization[edit]

@Suzukaze-c: I think we should be consistent in where we lemmaziting wago. Since the most common spelling is 思う and it represents the most basic meaning, I think there is no harm in lemmatizing this term at 思う. If there are multiple basic meanings (e.g. 更ける vs 老ける), they can be both lemmas but have cross references in etymology, pronunciation, etc. --Dine2016 (talk) 03:12, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mm, even if we did, how would the problem of the placement of 念う etc. be solved? —Suzukaze-c 05:17, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Suzukaze-c: Make おもう, 想う, 念う, etc. all redirect to 思う? --Dine2016 (talk) 03:45, 23 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Regarding to making distinction on spellings[edit]

Based on my experience, using 思う or 想う are somewhat interchangeable, and the difference is only noticable when written. According to jisho, "想う has connotations of heart-felt". When using set phrases such as ~~と思う, it's almost always 思う. It's also a matter of choice of which kanji to use in a certain context. Shen233 (talk) 05:37, 22 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
