Tone for "fu"[edit]

Someone just added first tone for "fu." However, in normal speech, isn't the "fu" pronounced with neutral tone ("fifth" tone), as in daifu? Or are we going with textbook pronunciations rather than real-life ones? Badagnani 21:38, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, that was me - it is textbook, but that's how I learned to say it. I could be wrong! bd2412 T 22:22, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I stand corrected - I was taught that there always must be a tone, but apparently not. Cheers! bd2412 T 23:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Both zhàngfu and zhàngfū are correct. The latter is common in the mainland, while the latter is common in Taiwan. I have edited the Pronunciation section to reflect this. ---> Tooironic (talk) 09:12, 27 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
