Sichuanese?[edit]

@Prisencolin, which part of 四川方言與巴蜀文化 did you get nang2 from? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 07:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

The section concerning the Min connection. The particular area is administered by Chengdu so technically its Chengdu dialect.--Prisencolin (talk) 08:34, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Prisencolin: What we mean by Chengdu dialect is the dialect of Mandarin spoken in Chengdu. This does not include any varieties of Min spoken in Chengdu. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 08:47, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Not sure if its mentioned in the document, but Min spoken in Sichuan is now extinct. The document as far as I know is just listing the loanwords used in the local Sichuanese Mandarin.--Prisencolin (talk) 09:28, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Prisencolin: The book is kind of ambiguous about it. (I just quickly skimmed over it, so I may be wrong.) However, this chapter is specifically on the Min language in Sichuan. It doesn't seem to indicate that Min is extinct in Sichuan. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 09:38, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
