1) I don't know how acceptable verb usage is, but I found examples such as the following.
所以,哪怕被他拒绝,被他冷遇,她也发现自己心底依然忘不了他伟岸的英姿和恢弘的气魄。 [1]
她人小,一时不能适应男人这样巨大的态度变化,几次被他冷遇之后,沮丧地蹲在地毯上,垂眸不语。 [2]
但是,我们要尽量不要冷遇他人,给人以热情,... [3]

2) I suspect that "maltreatment" and "to maltreat" may be too strong as glosses for 冷遇, especially at the head of the definition. Certainly, most dictionaries suggest that 冷遇 is a relatively passive behaviour ("cold reception", 冷淡的待遇 etc.), whereas "maltreatment" suggests actively treating a person with cruelty or violence (like 虐待).

Ah, thanks @Richwarm88. This is good enough. I'll retract the request. (It may need a tag of some sort - this sense is missing from dictionaries and seems nonstandard to me.) Also the sense has been changed to "to treat coldly; to cold shoulder". Wyang (talk) 08:17, 27 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
