Origins[edit]

Based on what I read on the Mandarin Chinese Wikipedia page, the etymology of this word is more complex than what we have now. 吉林 is just the first two characters in a Chinese character transcription of the Manchu term. The full transcription is 吉林烏拉. The Chinese character term apparently dates to the Early Qing. I want to try to add this info here. Geographyinitiative (talk) 11:37, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
