Additional definition[edit]

This term appears to also be used to mean "dumpling," as in this search. I'm not sure whether this is only in Cantonese, or also in Mandarin, but the dumplings referred to appear to be Cantonese (or generally southern Chinese) ones. 24.93.170.200 01:32, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean 湯圓, which is different from 餃子? Usually 餃子 is translated to "dumpling", maybe 湯圓 is translated to "rice dumpling". But whatever "dumpling" refers to, 圓 itself doesn't equal to 湯圓. --Wihwang 11:58, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
