I just looked in there but don't see how entries that are lacking Mandarin are flagged so editors know that needs to be added. 24.29.228.33 23:09, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

You have to click on one of the following links to see the list (which is divided onto four separate pages):

• Beginning Mandarin
• Elementary Mandarin
• Intermediate Mandarin
• Advanced Mandarin

All of the Beginning Mandarin compound words have Mandarin definitions. Single character entries are already marked with the {{defn|Mandarin}} template, which places the entry into Category:Mandarin definitions needed. If you see a blue link, the only way to know for sure is to click on the link. If you see a red link, that means that an entry has not been created for that word. In some cases, a blue link will exist, but not have a Mandarin definition. This is most often the case for words that also have a meaning in Japanese. However, many of those are easy to spot, because one version will be blue, and the other will be red. For example:

• 班长 (班長)

Even though 班長 is in blue, I would be alerted to the fact that this word needs attention by the fact that 班长 is in red. Mainly, I go through the list by clicking on each blue entry to make sure that a properly formatted Mandarin entry is present. If you want to go through the list of 8800 words and specifically tag the ones that exist, but still need Mandarin entries, no one will stop you. However, you'll have to decide for yourself whether it would be the most constructive use of your time.
