- Keep. Entered to mean "euphemism". 委婉 (tactful; polite) + 說法 (way of saying something; wording; version). The simplified form is 委婉说法, which is in bab.la[1], dictionary.cambridge.org[2], and cn.bing.co[3]. Should 委婉語 be deleted as well, as 委婉 (tactful; polite) + 語 (dialect; language; speech)? Is the reader really better off without these entries, or should they be there so that the reader know one actually says that in Chinese? --Dan Polansky (talk) 11:31, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Undecided. Reliability of lemmings should be checked. 委婉說法/委婉说法 (wěiwǎn shuōfǎ) means "tactful/polite way of saying". One could also say 婉轉詞語/婉转词语 (wǎnzhuǎn cíyǔ) "tactful/indirect term/expression". Both are fine in an English-Chinese dictionary but may not be as Chinese entries. As Tooironic said, 說法／说法 (shuōfǎ) can replaced with the synonymous 講法／讲法 (jiǎngfǎ) ("way of saying"). 委婉 (wěiwǎn) can replaced with 詞語／词语 (cíyǔ). --Anatoli T. - Yesterday I have checked in Wenlin (uses ABC dictionary) and Pleco. Here's an online dictionary MDBG. We need templates for Chinese dictionaries, I'm not sure if there are any.--Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад)|
