晉

This is a kyūjitai pre-reform kanji no longer in use, having been superseded by the simplified shinjitai form 晋. Since these are essentially the same character semantically speaking, they should have the same readings and meanings (with the possible exception of nanori, idiosyncratic uses in names). However, the kyūjitai form here has three readings not found either on the shinjitai page, nor in any dictionaries I have to hand: the on'yomi of せん, and the kun'yomi of おさえる and つつしむ.

Can anyone verify these readings? If so, we should add them to the shinjitai form as well. If no, we should remove them. -- Eiríkr Útlendi | Tala við mig 16:26, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

By way of quick reference, the jisho.org pages for the shinjitai 晋 and the kyūjitai 晉 show identical on'yomi and kun'yomi, the same as what we have and matching the dead-tree dictionaries I have on my desk. Additional Chinese definition
