@Justinrleung google:"橫樑" gets more hits than google:"橫梁" for me though: 362,000 vs 220,000. (Also: 棟樑 and 橋樑.) Wyang (talk) 02:01, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps we could follow Hong Kong's standard and use 樑, just like 污 :) — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:03, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think that's good. I'm surprised the Taiwanese are unable to surpass the Hong Kongers on the Internet on this one (24 million vs 7 million). It seems there are some Taiwanese who secretly prefer the Hong Kong standard. Wyang (talk) 03:13, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think it's because the Taiwanese standard doesn't really consider what the people use the most (and prefers to use Shuowen and other ancient dictionaries to back everything up), whereas the Hong Kong standard is closer to daily usage. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:28, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Agreed, the Taiwanese standards are usually more prescriptive than Mainland or Hong Kong. Sometimes I wonder whether some of the dictionary-standard fourth-tone pronunciations are actually used in speech or not. Wyang (talk) 03:44, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
