Pronounciation of 汞齊

@Hippertail has added Template:attention to the translation section of English entry "amalgam" in this diff, quesitioning whether the Pinyin transcription should be "gǒngqí". I belive this problem should be resolved within this entry instead. Therefore, I removed the attention template by this diff and added a disscussion topic here.

Based on my knowledge and observations, "汞齊／汞齐" should be pronounced as "gǒng jì". This is for example supported by this MoeDict (萌典) entry . The character 齊 is 通假字 for 劑 (see this zi.tools (字統網) entry) and has traditionally been used in Classical Chinese Texts as the character for (the mixing recipe for) an alloy with the same pronounciation as 劑. However, since this word is a term in specialty fields and is not commonly used modern academia, many people are confused about the pronounciation. Even some dictionaries, particularly online ones, have even missed the pronounciation. Therefore, I believe "gǒng jì" is the correct pronounciation. Mkpoli (talk) 10:02, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
