- I can imagine that as a non-English-speaker's oddly worded rendering for one literal interpretation of the characters, as 沙 (“sand”) + 文 (“pattern”). Presumably such a sense would be SOP anyway? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 18:39, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- It should probably be "sand ripples on the beach" or something like that. It's used in literary Chinese. Hanyu Da Cidian has it as an entry and provides three quotes. — justin(r)leung { (t...) | c=› } 01:24, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
